There are several types of biogas systems designed for efficient use of biogas. While each model differs in input, output, size and type, the biological process that converts organic waste into biogas is the same. Organic materials are first mixed homogeneously. Inorganic materials such as stone, metal, plastic in the mixture are separated. The mixture is crushed on a cell basis and fed into digester tanks. The wastes fed into the digestion chamber are kept in an oxygen-free environment. Micro-organisms allow waste to break down and turn into biogas. As a result of the fermentation process, oxygen, methane gas and carbon dioxide are formed. The resulting biogas is converted into electrical energy by burning in gas generators.
